If you rate yourself as a bit of a pro gamer and want to test your skills against other gamers, the World Cyber Games is kicking off in Sydney tomorrow afternoon. Let the fragging begin!
The competition is set to kick off from 4:30pm at Parramatta Riverside, with multiple games to compete in, including Tekken 6, FIFA 11, StarCraft II, Warcraft III and Counter Strike 1.6. Entry is free and you can register to compete when you arrive, so there’s plenty of time to brush up on your competitive skills before you try and take the mantle in Sydney.
There’s also going to be plenty of gaming pods available for non-competitive action, which should make for a fun afternoon of gaming for anyone. There will also be fireworks.
The contest will hit Brisbane and Melbourne throughout the year, with the Australian final due to occur on the Gold Coast before the winners go to Seoul to represent their country, so there’s plenty of opportunity for gamers in other (East Coast) states to enter later this year.
