Amazon Cuts 8.9 Inch Kindle HD Fire Price And Ships Outside The USA

WOAH! Not so fast there, youngster. “Outside the USA” doesn’t include Australia, sadly. Instead, the reduced price Kindle Fire HD is now on sale in Japan and Europe. Bummer.

Amazon’s citing the reduced cost of production as to why it’s chopping $30 off the price of the Wi-Fi Kindle Fire HD and $100 off the 4G version, as it rolls the device out to Japan, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy and Spain.

Australia isn’t in that list. You could obviously direct import one for a little less now, but as Luke noted in his review, the lack of content services make the Kindle Fire HD a less than stunning device.
