Steven Spielberg’s Company Will Make The Alien Invasion Drama The Fall

Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment is on a tear of acquiring new content. They just released The BFG, picked up the YA series The Gates and now they have acquired the buzzed-about spec script, The Fall, which sounds like The Road meets War of the Worlds.

A still from The Road, which has nothing to do with The Fall, except it’s also about family travelling on foot under apocalyptic conditions.

We wrote about The Fall a few weeks ago as one of two prominent alien invasion scripts currently going around Hollywood. Well, the first one — Moonfallsold to Universal, and now this one has sold to Amblin. It’s written by Pete Bridges and follows a newly divorced couple who have to travel on foot, from the city to the suburbs, during an alien invasion to get to their kids.
