Hit-Monkey’s Season 2 Trailer Teases NYC Mayhem, Literal Hell, and a Family Reunion

It’s been a minute since we last saw Hit-Monkey in action—season one aired in late 2021—but the animated Hulu series, which has branched out from its original Marvel branding, isn’t one you have to do much catching up on. There are two main characters; one’s a monkey assassin, one’s the ghost of a human assassin, and high-octane mayhem ensues wherever they go.

The first season two trailer introduces Iris (Cristin Milioti), the long-lost daughter of Bryce (Jason Sudeikis)—the spectral mentor-slash-partner of Hit-Monkey (Fred Tatasciore). Bryce happens to be a ghost until, as the trailer also shows, he engages in a little underworld risk-taking to gain back his corporeal form.

Here’s the official synopsis: “In New York City, Monkey finds a path to escape his life of killing, while Bryce attempts to repair the damage to those he wronged in life. But what will it cost them to undo the past?” Of course, there are also bad guys galore. We did mention high-octane mayhem, after all!

The cast also includes season two newcomer Leslie Jones, who plays Bryce’s former agent, as well as returning voices Olivia Munn and Ally Maki. Hit-Monkey was co-created and executive produced by Josh Gordon and Will Speck; season two was produced by 20th Television Animation with animation by Floyd County Productions, which is just one reason why fans of the late, great Archer will feel so at home watching it.

Season two of Hit-Monkey hits Hulu July 15. Are you planning to check it out?
