Despite the fact that Motorola has all but given up on its first round of Android phones, the new handsets keep on coming. This morning, they’ve announced that the Flipout, a small, squarish handset running Android 2.1, will be available exclusively through Vodafone.
Running a newer version of Motoblur and available in a range of colours, the square, palm-sized handset with a pivot hinge hiding a 5-row QWERTY keypad will set you back $299 outright. That’s not too bad for a compact little smartphone, but if you’re hoping for a Froyo update, this may not be the best option given Moto’s current plans for Android upgrades.
