PSA: October is breast cancer awareness month, so it’s a good opportunity to make sure you’re up to date on your exams. Early Detection plan is a free iPhone app that will help you do just that.
What does it do?
Reminds you to do self-exams and tips you when it’s time to for your clinical check or mammogram, based off your age and your family medical history. It also shows you how to preform a exam on yourself.
Why do we like it?
It’s important to know if you’re at risk for breast cancer — one out of nine Australian women will get a positive diagnosis for breast cancer in their lifetime, and this National Breast Cancer Foundation-backed app will help you stay on top of things. The earlier you catch a lump or abnormality, the more likely it is that you can nip it in the bud, pardon the pun. And anyone who’s ever done an at-home exam knows the feeling of standing there wondering if you’re even doing it right. Now you can worry a little less.
