If you happened to pick up an HTC Hero from Europe before the Australian launch last year, you may have noticed that HTC have made the update to Android 2.1 available. If you bought one from Australia though, you’re going to have to wait a little bit longer.
We asked HTC why there’d be a delay for Aussies considering the phone was sold unlocked through retail, not through a carrier partner. Their response:
The UK and AU testing process are different based on different market considerations. Currently HTC AU are testing the software and should have an update available by mid-July.
