While the PlayBook has a lot of spark (see our review), we’ve been frustrated that the promise of running Android apps via a virtual machine has yet to materialise. However, it looks like RIM is getting close — the installer has been uncovered in a recent update for the Desktop Manager software, and some clever coders have made it available to download.
Be warned, though. This is definitely a hack, otherwise you’d just download it from App World. RIM can’t be that far off, so unless you’re super excited and happy tinkering around, you’re probably better off waiting for the certified update. [N4BB via Geek.com]
