Old CDs Make Excellent Rats And Otters

I’m old school enough to like buying CDs — if only for the copyright format shifting rights I get with them — but I’m clearly in the minority. Still, untold billions of CDs have been sold over the last thirty years, and that’s a lot of plastic in need of recycling. I’ve got to say that it’s never occurred to me to make otters out of them.

These sculptures, from artist Sean Avery, use nothing more than broken CDs, hot glue and a few wire frames are rather eye boggling. It also makes me wonder how many plastic cuts he suffered along the way.
