Despite the fact that it’s encouraging more drivers into the CBD, Uber Sydney has said that it’s not about to saddle riders with high surge prices to get people out of the city. Uber is now saying it’s going to let riders travel for free out of the CBD.
Uber Sydney trips from CBD will be free for riders. Higher rates are still in place to encourage drivers to get into the CBD.

It’s good damage control from the company which had been charging at least $65 for riders to use its service to get out of the city this afternoon.
Uber is looking to pay drivers more to get into the city, and encouraging riders to use it to get out for free.
