Lunch Time Deals: $80 Off A GPS Dashcam

When you’re buying your lunch today, you might want to take a moment and spend a little more. Gizmodo’s Lunch Time Deals posts point out any particularly good bargains for Aussie bargain hunters around the ‘net. This week, JB has an Instant Deal that saves you one third of the price of a Full HD 1080p, GPS-enabled, driver-assisting dashcam.

The JB deal saves you $80 off the Kapture KPT-900, dropping from its $247 original price (from a $299 RRP originally, too) to $167. By all accounts, it’s a pretty decent front-facing dashcam, with auto-recording if you’re bumped while your car is parked and the addition of some smart ADAS driver assistant extras, including lane assistance and forward collision warnins.

The only difference between the KPT-900 and the KPT-920 that JB is also selling seems to be in-built Wi-Fi, making it a pretty good deal for $167. Footage from the KPT-920 looks pretty decent, if not incredibly detailed or at an especially high frame rate. DashCamLife says it’s Kapture’s best, although it could be improved in some areas.

To get this deal, you’ll need to be a member of JB Hi-Fi’s Instant Deals mailing list, which sends you a unique barcode regularly with some pretty reasonable savings on a wide range of gear. It’s very easy to sign up if you haven’t already, and then you’ll receive this week’s deals in your inbox straight away. [JB Hi-Fi]
