In the 2017 Federal Budget, handed down this evening, there is $0.7 million allocated over a two year period to create a National Fire Danger Rating System.
“The NFDRS will deliver nationally consistent fire danger ratings that use the best and latest available modelling and fire science,” the budget paper reads.
“The Government will provide $0.7 million over two years from 2017-18 to the New South Wales and South Australian Governments to develop a National Fire Danger Rating System (NFDRS).”
