Twitter just got more GIF-friendly by introducing Vine, a new video-sharing service for clips that are six seconds or less. But it’s already down, buckling beneath the weight of desk recordings.
Vine is an iOS app that captures both motion and sound. Translation: MP4 files that you can tweet.
A Twitter spokesperson says the self-downing is temporary, but without the ability to post to Twitter or Facebook, there’s no reason to use the app.
We’re temporarily disabling Twitter and Facebook sharing. It should be back soon. Thanks for your patience!

Yes, there are similar apps in high supply that already exist. The obvious question is why isn’t Vine just integrated on Twitter? Since Twitter bought Vine, we’re going to assume that will be the case eventually. For now, it’s just a fun new GIF-making app that plays nice with your tweets. It just needs to actually work properly. [iTunes App Store via Vine, Twitter]
