Using LCD technology that’s similar — but not exactly the same — as what’s used for your laptop’s screen, the makers of the Boogie Boards created a modern take on those lift-and-peel drawing pads that instead erase at the push of a button. And at CES 2015 the company has announced a new kid-friendly version called the Boogie Board Play n’ Trace Paperless Doodle Pad that’s now slightly transparent so kids can trace whatever it’s placed on.
Available in time for the holidays later this year for about $US30, the new Boogie Board works just like the previous versions currently on the market. Kids can use a stylus or their fingers to draw an image or design on the blue-tinted LCD screen, and it will stick around until they choose to erase it at the push of a button. The Boogie Board Play n’ Trace Paperless Doodle Pad is also shaped like a painter’s palette to encourage kids to explore their artistic sides with it, instead of jotting down what groceries they need to remember to buy.
