6 Months Of Tracking Someone’s Mobile Phone, Visualised

How much information does a phone company collect on you? Given that they know which tower your phone pings every time you use it, try “all of it”. That’s what one German politician discovered when he sued his carrier, Deutsche Telekom, for all of the data they’d archived for six months of his mobile phone usage.

German newspaper Zeit then mapped the data against geolocation info available from the pol’s blog and Twitter feed to give a full picture of his every movement from September 2009 to February 2010. The result? A visually stunning history of how you’re never as alone as you think you are. [Zeit via FastCompany]
