This sure beats SkyMall. Google’s offering free (for the duration of the flight) Chromebooks and Wi-Fi to Virgin America passengers who will put their ‘tops through the wringer, starting tomorrow. A credit card deposit is required, so don’t spill your drink.
This is more marketing stunt than anything else, but you really can’t complain about a free computer and precious, precious internet while you’re stuck tens of thousands of miles in the sky. The program ends on September 30, so if you’re planning on flying in the US and want to plan your travels around the availability of a free Chromebook, here’s your chance. [TechCrunch]
