Gizmodo Shooting Challenge: Who Won The PlayStation 3 Consoles?

Hundreds of entries, thousands of votes, but as always there can be only two winners. Today we announce who wins the winners of the two Sony Playstation 3 Consoles Gizmodo has to giveaway.

For the last four weeks, Gizmodo readers (and the friends they convince to vote for them) voted one weekly Shooting Challenge finalist through to the prize round to be judged and announced by Gizmodo editors.

The challenges included:

Winners

Shawn Hu, Light Shots

Went to Hunter Valley over the weekend with friends when I was a uni student; it was the first time I had ventured out of Sydney and stay overnight in rural areas, hence I hadn’t have the chance to see the stars clearly. It was lucky that the sky was clear, because the forecast was cloudy/raining on the night and the next morning. Really glad I was able to capture something so magnificent in the sky above our lodge.

Equipment
☆ Nikon D7000
☆ Tokina 11-16mm DX
☆ Manual/f2.8/ISO6400/15sec
☆ Tripod

Beautiful work, Shawn. The most beautiful light by far is the lights of the universe and your image managed to capture them perfectly. A Playstation 3 for your efforts, sir!

Roger Stonehouse, Line Shots

Under Commonwealth bridge,
like much of the architecture of inner Canberra, it is structured deliberate and somewhat clinical. It’s almost a “Where’s Wally?” for lines (bonus points for spotting the water line :P). Around the corner is Floriade, almost the complete opposite, it can be a little jarring walking past this after a stroll in Floriade.
The shot was taken on a H3D mounted on a tripod. Mirror lockup was used to eliminate vibrations. Colors and exposure were edited in Adobe camera raw.

Bravo, Roger! Our nation’s capital has never looked as stunning as this. The textures are rich, the lines are strong and everything glows. Congrats on your win.

Shawn and Roger win a new-look Playstation 3 console each. The New Look PlayStation 3 is everything you love about Sony’s iconic home gaming flagship in a new, slimmer body. The smaller footprint is thanks to the complete redesign of the internal components to make it a better organised and better looking piece of tech. Not only is it slimmer, but it’s also sporting a bigger hard drive, giving you more for less. It’s still got the same great Blu-ray capabilities from the last PlayStation 3 and it still supports some of the best games on the market right now.

The new PlayStation 3 is an awesome prize worth $399.95 RRP and we’re excited to give two of them away to Shooting Challenge faithful Roger and Shawn.

Then chose a character (nightmare before christmas) at a minimum of 45cm from lens. Then sprinkled some 100s & 1000s to create further depth.

Rachel Gray, X Shots:

For our farewell/muck up day on Monday we were taken up to Hanging Rock to have a picnic lunch. This photo was taken while my friend and I were wandering around (but it is alright, we didn’t get lost!). Lots of joy and happiness!
