After almost two years in the making, TPG finally has the unlimited NBN plans it said it would come out with, and they’re pretty competitive, too, provided you don’t mind a slower speed.
TPG has two speed tiers with three bundle plans apiece. The lower tier sees you stuck at 12Mbps/1Mbps, but at least you get free unlimited usage.
The standard speed plans start at $59.99 for free, unlimited NBN usage at 12Mbps/1Mbps with pay-as-you-go home phone calls. The $69.99 plan includes the same internet access, but adds unlimited local calls (including 13/1300 numbers), unlimited standard national calls to landlines and 100 international minutes per month. The third Mega option costs $79.99 per month and includes the allowances from the lower tiers, as well as unlimited calls to standard Australian mobiles and unlimited international calls to Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, the UK and the USA.
12Mbps/1Mbps
The high speed plans bump your NBN connection up to 100Mbps/40Mbps, and cost $89.99 per month for the entry-level plan, $99.99 per month for the mid-level plan with unlimited local calls (including 13/1300 numbers), unlimited standard national calls to landlines and 100 international minutes per month, while $109.99 gets you the allowances from the lower tiers, as well as unlimited calls to standard Australian mobiles and unlimited international calls to Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, the UK and the USA.
100Mbps/40Mbps
There’s a $99.95 set-up fee on all of the plans, $20 prepayment for phone calls and a $10 delivery fee for your free Wi-Fi modem-router.
Thankfully, none of the plans are on a lock-in contract, so if it sucks you can go elsewhere.
