Forget the small updates. This is the big one: Apple’s iOS 9 software update is set to be pushed live to iPhones and iPads. When can we get it in Australia?
The new software update should ship from Apple starting from midnight Pacific Daylight Time on 16 September. That’s 5pm AEST on 16 September for us here in Australia.
It will be a staged rollout, so people should get it as the night progresses in Australia. If you’re obsessed and need your update as soon as possible, keep refreshing your Software Update screen between now and bedtime (yes, you need to sleep) to see if you’re included. Remember to back up your device before you update!
iOS 9 includes new updates and apps from Apple, including UI changes, a new Apple News app, optimised battery life for older devices and public transit directions in Maps for some cities. Siri is also getting a bump in iOS 9.
