When you’re buying your lunch today, you might want to take a moment and spend a little more. Gizmodo’s Lunch Time Deals posts point out any particularly good bargains for Aussie bargain hunters around the ‘net. This week, JB Hi-Fi has a pretty impressive $300 off Dell’s excellent Inspiron 13 7000 Series 2-in-1 laptop.
If you’re a member of JB Hi-Fi’s mailing list, you would have received an email this week advertising this particular Instant Deal — $300 off the Inspiron 13, available in two variants. There’s a $1198 Core i5-powered machine, and a gutsier Core i7 for $1398. Sure, this isn’t an especially cheap price, and Dell does have sales relatively often, but especially if you’re gearing up for the back to school or back to uni season, it’s a great device.

Dell’s Inspiron 13 7000 Series 2-in-1, as the name might clue you in to, can transform from a general-purpose laptop to a tablet at the flick of a hinge. Thanks to those two nifty hinges attaching the 13-inch screen to the rest of the chassis, — which rotate a full 360 degrees — the Inspiron 13’s screen can flip all the way around to the rear, giving you an oversized Windows 10 tablet. Even if you don’t want to use it as a slate, though, it’s an entirely normal and powerful laptop at the same time — with a good keyboard and trackpad built in.
That deal makes the normally $1500 and $1700 machines a lot more palatable, and considering Dell’s excellent warranty support, you should be getting yourself a laptop that does an excellent job for a long lifespan. [JB Hi-Fi]
