Airtasker has teamed up with The Good Guys to launch a new app — an after-sales installation platform.
So how will it work?
Installations can now be purchased in stores which are distributed into a dedicated platform for The Good Guys certified installers, powered by Airtasker.
You’ll be able to pick from a list of available installers in your area to complete the installation, and then book in a time for the installation. The job details are then sent to both you and the installer (via the app) who completes the job with all communication between you handled within the private platform.
Payments and invoicing are managed by the Airtasker platform, including any additional variations that may be needed on-site to complete the installation
The installer will then arrive on site chosen time and complete the job, uploading photos and required documentation to the platform to complete the installation. You can then approve and review the installation via the app, and the installer is paid for the job.
The reviews will be used as part of The Good Guys’ quality assurance process, and can help installers win more work.
Airtasker co-founder and chief operating officer Jonathan Lui said the he is expecting the Australian first system to trigger a “fundamental shift” in how retailers think about post-sales service, “revolutionising” installation services by streamlining the process, enabling fast, accurate bookings and promising seamless contact between customers and installers.
The Good Guys Chief Marketing Officer, Robert Ambler-Frazer said partnering with Airtasker to develop this booking portal for the retailer’s Concierge Home Installation Services has provided “a unique solution” that makes coordinating services easier and more hassle free, efficient and cost effective.
“We have an existing network of approximately 400 installers,” Ambler-Frazer said. “They now have access to more jobs from more stores and our customers have access to more installation services and more choice in terms of installers and contractors.”
The partnership with The Good Guys also serves as the launch of the Airtasker Ecosystem Partnership program.
Spearheaded by Airtasker co-founder and Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Lui, the program aims to leverage Airtasker’s expertise in building online marketplaces into other industries.
“There’s a natural affinity with how our Airtasker’s model and the retail sector could work together — so it was a natural starting point for this project,” Airtasker’s Lui said.
