Video: No matter what you do for a living, there’s a very good chance that at least some part of your job involves pecking away at a computer keyboard. That isn’t going to change any time soon, but watching a plastic keyboard melt away in a pool of acetone at least provides some cathartic satisfaction.
You might not be familiar with acetone, but the solvent is very good at dissolving plastics, artificial fibres and paints, which is why it’s used in paint thinner and nail polish remover. It took about 70 hours for a few centimetres of solvent to turn this keyboard into a pile of unrecognisable mush, and about 11,000 photos to document its demise through this wonderful timelapse.
