X-Men: Dark Phoenix
In an interview with Collider, Olivia Munn referred to the latest X-Men film as a “two-parter.”
I don’t know what I’m supposed to say. I’m supposed to be vague. That’s my answer. I’m horrible at that. It’s like a two-parter, this movie. That’s more than I’ve said, in general. I don’t know why people have to be so secretive.
Venom
Variety reports Michelle Williams is in talks to join Tom Hardy for Sony’s Venom. Though details are scarce, Variety says Williams could play a district attorney and potentially Hardy’s love interest.

Hocus Pocus 2
Speaking with Forbes, director Mick Garris stated he’s heard “rumours” a made-for-TV sequel is in the works without his involvement.
It’s amazing to be a part of something that has become a perennial. It [wasn’t] a hugely successful movie when it came out, it was only modestly successful. I wrote the first eight years earlier but it was when it turned out that Bette Midler was interested and wanted to do it, she was at a very high time in her career, that it got put on the fast track and it started happening again. Now it has become an annual thing at the El Capitan on Hollywood Boulevard and the show is sold out. I went there last year and one of the ushers actually recognised me and gave me a tour of the theatre. Generation after generation, it’s kind of remarkable and fantastic to have something brought to the screen like that and to have it embraced generation after generation. Everybody I meet, it’s either their daughters or their own favourite movie and it’s incredibly exciting. There have been rumours of a Hocus Pocus sequel for the last 10 years that will not die. I have heard they are developing the script, I haven’t been involved in it but I think there will be a sequel it might be for Disney Channel or Freeform or ABC. I think it will be for television but I hear that it is moving ahead.

Jigsaw
Coming Soon has a colourful new IMAX poster for the first Saw film in seven years.
8
Deadline reports a TV series is in development based on Stephen King’s short story, N, now given the even weirder title of 8. In the story (which can be read in Just After Sunset), a man with obsessive compulsive disorder believes he’s the last bastion between mankind and a hidden world of interdimensional horrors. David F. Sandberg will helm the pilot, with a script from Ant-Man and the Wasp writers Andrew Barrer and Gabe Ferrari.
The Mist
As one Stephen King property is born, another must die — The Mist has been cancelled at Spike after one season. [THR]
Scanners
After a cutthroat bidding war, Media Res and Bron Studios have acquired the television rights to develop a series based on the David Croenenberg film. [Scanners]
Deadly Class
The Russo Brothers’ adaptation of the Image Comics series about a class of high school kids at an Assassin’s academy has been picked up for a pilot order at Syfy. [Spoiler TV]
The Flash
Speaking with TV Insider, producer Andrew Kreisberg discussed how the Elongated Man will integrate himself into the cast.
There’s going to be a lot of conflict between them in terms of how to be a good guy. Ralph is hitting on everybody all the time. He’s brash and loud and doesn’t listen.
Kriesberg also hinted that Ralph Dibny is hiding a secret about how he acquired his powers of malleability: “That’s one of the big mysteries of the season.”
Stranger Things
Matt Duffer told Entertainment Weekly that season two will open on an “urban environment” far away from the town of Hawkins, just to establish how far-reaching the season’s threat extends.
I liked opening the show in a place not in Hawkins, in an urban environment. I want people thinking maybe they have clicked on the show and then, boom, you realise ‘Oh now we’re still in it.’ But it’s all about broadening, and expanding our world.
In the same article, Ross Duffer assured fans these separate threads will come together before the finale.
We have all these different threads and you don’t see how possibly all these things could come together and then slowly but surely they all play an integral role in the story this season.
Gotham
Solomon Grundy meets The Riddler in the synopsis for episode 5 of the new season, “The Blade’s Path.”

Meanwhile, Sofia Falcone takes action to protect her own life by appealing to Penguin’s vulnerable side. With the power of the dagger in his possession, Bruce surprises those around him with his bold actions.
The Gifted
Reed tries to bargain with the Sentinel Services (mistake) in the synopsis for episode three, “eXodus.” Get it? Because X-Men.
In an effort to reunite with one another, Reed cuts a deal with the Sentinel Services and Caitlin and the kids seek help from someone outside the compound. Meanwhile, Thunderbird begins to teach Blink how to control her powers.
Lucifer
Maze runs off the Canada in the synopsis for episode 3 of the new season, “Mr. And Mrs. Mazikeen Smith.”

Upon further investigation, Lucifer and Chloe make a stunning realisation when they find that their target may be much closer than they thought.
