Nissan have officially sold 100,000 of its Leaf in Japan. To celebrate this milestone, the company decided to produce a convertible version of its electric car, because why not?
Dubbed the Leaf Open Car, it still appear to be a four-seater hatchback, sans the two rear doors and roof. However, Nissan aren’t actually referring to it as a convertible. And that’s probably because it doesn’t seem to have a roof that can be attached.
This may seem strange, but makes more sense when you realise that it won’t actually be for sale.

Sorry folks, the new Leaf is merely a one off concept car and won’t be going into mass production anytime soon. Not that this is of much consequence to us Australians – the regular Nissan Leaf still isn’t available here yet.
Oh well, the roofless version is still quite cute.
