We’ve already seen how fast a chocolate can melt on the pavement, now things are getting serious. Someone decided to cook an egg inside their car to show how hot it really is in Melbourne.
After a few minutes sitting in the sun, the temperature in this 1990 Mitsubishi crossed over 80 degrees Celcius when the exterior temperature was 42 degrees.
As a result, the egg (free-range of course) was able to be cooked inside a car, sitting on the passenger seat, within 15 minutes.
It made a delicious meal for the dog!
Moral of the story? Don’t lock stuff in cars. It can get really hot in there really fast.
