The new NX Mini is one of those technology products that is unashamedly Samsung. It’s an interchangeable lens camera that’s been pared back to its simplest form — and that form is clearly designed for party selfies.

A flip-up screen, a bundled wide-angle lens, integrated pop-up flash and no complicated manual options. The standard Samsung suite of Smart features including a Beauty Face mode, instant sharing to your smartphone over Wi-Fi. A unique capture setting where you can wink instead of pressing the shutter button. All of this is going to come in really handy when you’re out on the town with your girlfriends.

A 1-inch, 20-megapixel imaging sensor means the NX Mini should be capable of capturing some decently detailed photos, and a wide ISO range of 100-25,600 makes it versatile enough in most lighting conditions. It doesn’t hurt that the camera itself is stylish — not too many buttons, a leatherette finish, light at 158g and slim at 22.5mm thick.
I actually think the Samsung NX Mini looks pretty swish. If Samsung makes some more compact, high quality prime lenses (hopefully faster than the kit 9mm’s f/3.5), it might even be a successful — if niche — interchangeable lens camera.
