Remember when Google destroyed GPS companies’ share prices by announcing turn by turn navigation for Google Maps in Android? Well, despite announcing the service for another 11 countries today, Australia isn’t one of them.
Gus over at Lifehacker asked Google what gives, and they told him they have “nothing to announce regarding Australia right now”. That’s not a never, but it’s certainly not a “coming soon” either…
The countries that do get the update are Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and Switzerland. If you wind up travelling to one of these countries, feel free to check it out before lamenting your being Australian…
