The thing I appreciate about The Slingshot Channel is that it always brings projects two or three iterations past what I would ever think to pursue. The pencil shooter Joerg made last week was more of a curiosity. Not the most deadly thing we’ve seen by a long shot. See what I did there?
Anyway, in that video Joerg talked about how the crank shooter (which was itself an update on a previous pencil shooter) could be even more efficient if it were run with a power drill instead of by a human. So this week he did it. But that still wasn’t enough. Even though he started buying pencils in bulk, he realised that they were lousy projectiles and that he needed something better. So he got steel nails that looked like pencils. This is what true dedication to R&D looks like.
