Buying devices directly from Google has always been a decent option if you’re price-conscious, but there are times when other suppliers — even local ones — can beat the source. Such is the case with the Nexus 9, which you can grab now from Google or, if you’re willing to wait a couple of weeks, a bit cheaper from Kogan.
Kogan’s range of Nexus 9 tablets isn’t as filled out as Google’s — as Daniel Tyson at Ausdroid notes, only the black and white 16GB/32GB models are available and if you want cellular, you’re out of luck. That said, you will save yourself a few dollars — shipping costs depending — with the 32GB a healthy $40 less and the 16GB $10 less, compared to Google.
If you’re not sure the Nexus 9 is the tablet for you, be sure to check out the Gizmodo review from earlier this month. Otherwise, if you’re not keen on Google or Kogan, you can hold out for more info on local release details, though I’m sure other retailers will start offering their own deals in the near future.
