Stop pirating entire seasons of Game Of Thrones and True Detective to watch on your next Qantas flight right now: the Aussie airline has just cut a deal with Foxtel to get HBO’s best programs on the air, in the air.
Qantas will air four new channels on its in-flight entertainment system from this month, including one dedicated to HBO content.
Some of the shows coming to Qantas’ in-flight entertainment platform include:
• Veep
• Game of Thrones
• True Detective
• Silicon Valley
• Vice
• Girls
• Togetherness
• The Jinx
• Last Week Tonight with John Oliver
Qantas has promised other titles including classics like The Sopranos and Sex and the City as well as current programming. Overall, 120 hours of HBO content will be added, increasing by a rate of 20 new hours of programming per month.
You’ve got Foxtel to thank for the addition of HBO content to your next Qantas flight. The pay TV network is the exclusive reseller of HBO content in Australia, and the new multi-channel deal sees the premium US content folded in with other local programming.
The other three channels coming to the back of your seat are full of Foxtel programming as a result: Entertainment by Foxtel, National Geographic and Lifestyle by Foxtel will come online shortly.
Maybe this will stop you pirating shows for your next flight?
