Gotham has recast Poison Ivy! Maggie Geha, 28, will be taking over the role of Ivy Pepper from 14-year-old actress Clare Flory. While people assumed that Ivy would see some sort of a growth spurt, doubling her age definitely comes as a surprise. So, what’s the deal? Oh, it’s just Gotham continuing to be as insane as possible.

So how does young teen Ivy Pepper transform from Foley (left) to Geha (right)?
Following an encounter with a monster from Indian Hill, Ivy Pepper finds herself reborn, and one step closer to the DC villain she is destined to become: Poison Ivy. Now a 19-year-old woman who’s harnessed the full power of her charms, she sets her sights on Bruce Wayne.
A monster. Yes, a monster that transforms her from a kid to a 19-year-old woman who “has harnessed the full power of her charms”.
This seems… problematic.
Also: Keeping in mind that Indian Hill is a toxic waste dump built on an Indian burial ground, what sort of monster could Ivy encounter that would transmute her from the Wednesday Addams of house plants into a floral femme fatale? Solomon Grundy? Swamp Thing? Whatever the identity of the age-accelerating monster turns out to be, Gotham continues its quest to be the most bananas comic show on TV.
