LG’s new $349 X Power has a surprising feature for a smartphone in its price range — what could possibly be the best smartphone battery on the Australian market.
The LG X Power is only 7.9mm thick and packs a huge 4,100 mAh battery capacity, which is 50 per cent bigger than the LG Nexus 5X smartphone battery capacity.
Phone Arena recently put it to the test, replicating the power consumption of typical real-life usage — and it came on top (15 hours and 18 minutes battery life) when compared to the BLU Studio Energy (14h 53 min), Motorola Moto Z Play Droid (13h 43 min), Samsung Galaxy S7 active (11h 2 min), Samsung Galaxy Note 7 (9h 49 min) and the Apple iPhone 6s Plus (9h 11 min) — among others.
On top of that huge 4,100 mAh battery (which is non-removable) there’s also fast charging. Other notable features include full touch 5.3-inch HD screen, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS, a 1.3 GHz Quad Core processor, 16GB of memory (expandable via micro SD) and 2GB RAM.
There’s also a 13 MP rear facing camera and a 5MP front facing “selfie camera”. An auto shot feature will automatically recognise faces, and take the pic when you’re still — so you don’t even have to touch the screen.
But back to that battery. Ah, it’s kind of amazing. If you’re looking for a cheap phone with great battery (anyone have teenagers?) it’s worthg checking out. You can pick them up from JB Hi-Fi from today..
