HTC’s first two glass-backed, AI-enhanced phones are out in Australia soon: here’s how much you’ll pay and when you can get one.
The HTC U Ultra will set you back $1199 in Australia, while the smaller HTC U Play will be $799. Both will be out in store and for online sales from March 8.
You’ll find both phones in blue, pink and black colour variants at JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman, with Harvey’s also offering the U Ultra for pre-order.
To buy either phone on a plan, you’ll be heading to Vodafone. The HTC U Ultra will cost you $8 per month and the U Play $5 a month on a 24-month payment plan, and there’ll be various Red and MyMix plans on offer to bundle with the phone. Blue, black and white variants will be sold through Voda, as well as the pink U Ultra. To find a Vodafone pre-order for the U Ultra, look here.

It’s no longer the old-school Android smartphone company of a few years ago. It’s leaving that behind along with its old, industrial, metal-bodied line-up of One smartphones. Instead, the new HTC is positioning itself as slick and modern, and it’s doing that with two new phones built around shiny glass backs and funky colours, with AI smarts that make your life better.”]
