The Latest Xbox One Update Fixes The Home Screen, Again

The Xbox One has had more interface updates than I’ve had hot dinners. And I’m a hungry guy. Every change has refined things further and further, and the Fall Update improves your Xbox home screen even more. It’s also the last update before the Xbox One X launches, so it gets existing owners ready just in case they want to upgrade.

The post, from Xbox boss Mike Ybarra, runs through the host of changes — but the video above is what you really want, since it shows them. And the Home looks better than it ever has — slick and glossy and actually able to be read from a distance with big blocks that can be added for games and friends and apps alike.

You’ll also be able to get ready to upgrade from your Xbox One or One S for the upcoming Xbox One X, which drops in early November — by transferring games to an external hard drive, and by pre-downloading 4K assets for Xbox One X Enhanced games, or by using the new update’s network transfer to do all this over your home network once you’ve got your new console ready.
