Writer Jennifer Lee talks about the chances of Elsa finding love in Frozen 2. A familiar face is making a brief return in Once Upon a Time. Bruce Campbell discussed the future of Ash vs. Evil Dead. The Orville recruits a big Star Trek writer. Plus, new looks at the next episodes of The Flash and Supernatural. To me, my spoilers!
New Mutants/X-Force
THR reports the recent reshoots on The New Mutants will introduce a new, but currently undisclosed character. The same article later indicates Fox is hoping to begin filming X-Force this October.
Frozen 2
Speaking with Huffington Post, writer Jennifer Lee discussed the possibility of giving Elsa a female love interest in Frozen 2.
I love everything people are saying [and] people are thinking about with our film ― that it’s creating dialogue, that Elsa is this wonderful character that speaks to so many people. It means the world to us that we’re part of these conversations. Where we’re going with it, we have tons of conversations about it, and we’re really conscientious about these things. For me … Elsa’s every day telling me where she needs to go, and she’ll continue to tell us. I always write from character-out, and where Elsa is and what Elsa’s doing in her life, she’s telling me every day. We’ll see where we go.
Gemini Man
Ang Lee’s clone thriller starring Will Smith in multiple (cloned) roles has begun filming.
Once Upon a Time
Deadline reports actor Jared Gilmore will return as Henry Mills for a flashback scene in episode 20.
The Orville
Production on season two has begun, and an Instagram post from costume designer Ivy Thaide has confirmed that Joe Menosky – who worked on Star Trek: Discovery but is best known to Trek fans as the writer behind one of The Next Generation‘s most iconic episodes, “Darmok” – has joined the show as a writer and executive producer. Untitled M. Night Shyamalan Series
TV Line reports M. Night Shyamalan is already developing ten episodes of new, half-hour “psychological thriller” for Apple with producers Tony Basgallop (24: Live Another Day), Aswin Rajan (Wayward Pines), Jason Blumenthal (The Pursuit of Happyness), Todd Black (Fences) and Steve Tisch (Forrest Gump). Apples long march of content acquisition continues!
Ash vs the Evil Dead
Ruby gives birth to an untold evil in the trailer for next week’s episode.
In related news, Bruce Campbell revealed a fourth Evil Dead movie may happen in the event of Ash vs the Evil Dead‘s potential cancellation.
We’re in the horrible television limbo right now. We’re going to see what the TV gods have in store for us. We’re ready either way. If they take us off the air, we can think about another movie. And if they don’t, we can just keep plugging away.
Supernatural
The Winchesters investigate a black market for religious artifacts in pictures from next week’s episode, “A Most Holy Man.” More at the link. [Spoiler TV]
Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) are close to collecting everything they need to open a rift into the apocalyptic world and possibly rescuing Mary (guest star Samantha Smith) and Jack (Alexander Calvert). The one missing ingredient leads the Winchesters to a black market for religious relics where everything is not always as it seems.
The Flash
Barry is caught in a Speed scenario in the trailer for next week’s episode, “Enter Flashtime.”
