Super D Matsuri is the ultimate drift weekend. This year’s version attracted some of Japan’s and America’s best drifting talent to the California desert, complete with the incredible cars they brought with them. The photos of the cars in action were mind-blowing enough, but the videos were even better.
Those whose cars that could brave the bumpy road in were greeted with a paradise of all things sideways, bright and loud.
The footage is simply mind-blowing. Chelsea Denofa’s M3-swapped BMW 318i – not his usual Formula D Ford Mustang – is in the mix next to neon-liveried cars from Japan. Big JDM four-doors hit the track next to the usual Nissan S13s we see here. And so many tandems.
Next year’s Super D Matsuri will be back in Japan, but it returns to the United States in 2020. If you can, you should probably go.
