There are two decent Amityville Horror movies: the 1979 original starring Margot Kidder and James Brolin, released when some still believed the book it was based on was a true story; and 2016’s The Conjuring 2, which features a big scene in the infamous eye-window house, and is technically not part of the 18-film series anyway. Based on the below clip, it’s safe to assume that Amityville: The Awakening will not do anything to save the series.

Yeah, you read that right: the long-delayed Amityville: The Awakening, directed by Franck Khalfoun (who made the remake of Maniac) is the 18th film in the mostly direct-to-video franchise, 19th if you count Conjuring 2, and maybe 20th if you count My Amityville Horror, the genuinely disturbing documentary about the troubled son of George and Kathy Lutz, the couple whose haunted-house claims were detailed in Jay Anson’s best-seller.
Anyway, Amityville: The Awakening is about a family that moves into you-know-which house. The mother is played by Jennifer Jason Leigh, but this clip features the daughter character (played by Bella Thorne), the younger daughter character (Mckenna Grace), and… a spooooooky window.
Here’s the trailer, too:
