For months we’ve been hearing rumours that the next Nexus phone will be a big ol’ phablet from Motorola. 5.92 inches! Now a picture from the XDA forums seems to show off codename “Shamu” in its natural habit: Looking enormous next to other phones.
The picture from Michael Sudol shows what purports to be the mammoth Shamu next to the 5.5-inch LG G3, which is already repping the larger side of the Android phone spectrum, and it makes Shamu look worth of its codename. If this really is the next Nexus as rumoured, its other side boasts a 2560×1440 screen, with a Snapdragon 805 and big 3200mAh battery inside. A lot of power in that hefty body.
There is, of course, also the possibility that this is actually a Motorola device; it does look strikingly similar to the Moto X and there’s no Nexus branding in sight. But either way it seems like the chances are pretty good that we’ll see a giant Motorola phone of some sort coming out in the new future. If it does turn out to be a Nexus, here’s to hoping that it will also come with a little brother in tow. [XDA Forums via 9to5Google]
