Get your big coats, scarves and gloves, Australia: this weekend is set to be a chilly one according to the Bureau Of Meteorology. Think zero degrees in parts of New South Wales and Victoria.
The Bureau of Meteorology is warning that temperatures around Australia will fall to as low as zero this weekend thanks to a series of cold fronts being pushed through New South Wales and Victoria:
“Temperatures are expected to drop to single digits or below zero across the south east during the nights and mornings. The fronts will bring snow to the Australian Alpine region on Saturday which will extend right along the Great Dividing Range on Sunday. This could include areas such as Orange, Lithgow, Jenolan Caves, Armidale, Glen Innes, and Barrington Tops.”
Those cold fronts are paired with rain, hail and snow in some areas that will be smattered around South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales, the ACT, Queensland and the Northern Territory. None will be spared the chills!
And you won’t be able to ditch your coats come-Monday, either: the cold weather is expected to continue through to Wednesday of next week.
If only there was some advice you could follow about how to stay warm when it’s cold outside…
