This is one seriously high-end accessory. You can now upgrade your Surface Pro 4 with a two-tone grey type cover made from exclusively Italian mélange Alcantara fabric — more commonly seen in fashion, vehicles and interior.
One of the qualities that makes this super fancy fabric so special is it ages “beautifully, growing richer and darker over time and is wonderfully soft to touch”, Microsoft says.
Microsoft says the cover is crafted with “aesthetic, sensory and technical qualities like nothing you’ve ever experienced” which is a pretty big statement, but hey — it looks to be on the money.
Speaking of money, the type cover will set you back a cool $249.95 — a $50 hike on the standard cover.
Compatible with both the Surface Pro 3 and Surface Pro 4, it weighs 285 grams and features mechanical keys, dedicated buttons for Windows shortcuts, media controls and screen brightness and comes with a one year warranty.
One thing is quite obviously lacking, though — a fingerprint reader. If that’s a dealbreaker, this might not be the type cover for you.
