Have you ever wondered how those clever YouTubers get Obama to sing and rap entire songs? They usually spend countless hours carefully splicing together individual words taken from footage of the president, but you can now do the same thing in just seconds with a new website called Talk Obama To Me.
Using the app is as easy as typing in a phrase for the President to say, and hitting the ‘Talk!’ button. A few seconds later an auto-generated video appears, spliced from countless clips, with Obama repeating whatever you typed. Developed by Ed King, a Stanford Linguistics PhD candidate, the web app seems to error out on certain words — we couldn’t make him threaten to kill anyone. And if an acceptable word you’ve entered isn’t available in its library, Talk Obama To Me will attempt to splice it together from individual syllables, with varying degrees of believability.
