A headlamp can keep your hands free while you’re out exploring in the night, but sometimes you really have to angle your head to get the beam exactly where you want it. So Snow Peak came up with its new Mola headlamp that features an automatically tilting LED, which better matches the angle of your eyes, rather than the angle of your head.
So, when you you raise your head, the 110-lumen LED in the $US60 Mola angles upwards even further to put the light closer to where your eyes are actually looking. And when you look down, the opposite happens as the LED tries to point even lower. The automatic motion is powered by gravity and a small counterweight, while the bulb itself relies on a couple of AAA batteries that should keep it running for up to 45 hours with the brightness maxed out.
