Part of the joy of photography is visiting unique places and experiencing something while you document it. In an episode of the web series Roaming Focus, photographer Mike Palmer visits a creepy and run down abandoned prison.
Palmer had to take a canoe and head down the Wanapitei River in northern Ontario to reach Burwash Correctional Center, a prison that shut down in 1973. The snappy, polished video features Palmer commenting on his encounters, his gear, and his techniques. Some of the descriptions are a bit basic, like what HDR is, but it’s a fun little romp through an incredible location nonetheless. [Youtube via Imaging Resource]
