At $US440 it’s not the cheapest or most functional timekeeper you can strap to your wrist, but if aesthetics are your priority when buying a watch, you’re not going to find anything simpler or cleaner than one created using Dieter Rams’ design philosophy.
Braun’s latest timepiece features a case and strap made entirely from ceramic in either a monotone black or stone beige finish, so there’s no flashy gold, leather, or jewels to take away from its simple face and understated design. The only splash of colour comes from the bright yellow second hand that’s become a hallmark of Braun’s clocks and watches. Now if we could only just convince Braun to leave its branding off the front. [Braun via Selectism]
