There might be some truth in that recent Deadpool 2 Cable speculation. Shawn Levy promises once again that there’ll be justice for Barb in Stranger Things season two. Aquaman has found its hero’s father. Plus, an outstanding new poster for Kong: Skull Island, and new looks at the latest Arrow and Powerless. To me, my spoilers!
X-Men: Supernova
The film’s production listing on My Entertainment World has posted a purported synopsis for the film — ostensibly revealing it as re-telling of the famous Dark Phoenix Saga from the comics, which sees Jean Grey transformed by vast cosmic powers into the sinister Dark Phoenix.
Gathered together by Professor Charles Xavier to protect a world that fears and hates them, the X-Men had fought many battles, been on adventures that spanned galaxies, grappled enemies of limitless might, but none of this could prepare them for the most shocking struggle they would ever face. One of their own members, Jean Grey, has gained power beyond all comprehension, and that power has corrupted her absolutely! Now they must decide if the life of the woman they cherish is worth the existence of the entire universe!
However, there’s no reason to suspect an obscure site like this somehow got an official summary for more credible outlets, so keep your salt grains handy.

Aquaman
Temuera Morrison — perhaps best known as the face of Jango Fett and a hojillion clone troopers in the Star Wars prequels — has joined the cast as Aquaman’s human father. [THR]
Ghosts of War
Gods of Egypt‘s Brenton Thwaites has joined the cast of the supernatural thriller/World War II film as Chris Goodson, a “brilliant strategist plagued by battle fatigue”. [Coming Soon]
Deadpool 2
Remember a few weeks back when Ryan Reynolds shared a picture of himself with Hugh Jackman and Pierce Brosnan, leading to everyone wildly speculating that Brosnan could be playing Cable in Deadpool 2? Well, there might — might — be a little bit of truth to it.
In a recent episode of Meet the Movie Press, Forbes reporter Simon Thompson recalls a conversation he had with director David Leitch, including a jokey comment about Brosnan’s potential casting. Leitch responded by saying that he hadn’t cast Brosnan yet, seeming to imply the actor has at least been in discussions or potentially offered the role of the time-travelling mutant.
Kong: Skull Island
Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts has revealed a quite frankly awesome kaiju-movie-inspired Japanese poster for the film.

Tomb Raider
Set pictures of Alicia Vikander in action have hit the web. She’s pretty much wearing the exact outfit Lara wears in the first entry in the rebooted Tomb Raider game series, to boot. Right down to the bandages!

The Flash
Actor Keiynan Lonsdale confirms that Wally West will not be singing or dancing in the musical crossover episode, sadly.
No, I’m not dancing or singing in the musical. But maybe we’ll have another one one day. I’m not so sure. But not in this episode, unfortunately.

Emerald City
Dorothy goes up against the Wizard in the synopsis for the season finale, obviously titled “No Place Like Home”.
Tip (Jordan Laughran) and West (Ana Ularu) arrive in Emerald City seeking vengeance. With a renewed confidence, Dorothy (Adria Arjona) faces off against the Wizard (Vincent D’Onofrio) and fights to save Oz from his oppressive reign. Meanwhile, Glinda (Joely Richardson) brings her power to the battlefield as the threat of the Beast Forever looms.
Agents of SHIELD
Everyone is a robot (probably) in this brief new synopsis for “Self Control”.
Suspicion turns to paranoia when the team doesn’t know who can be trusted as more LMDs infiltrate S.H.I.E.L.D.
Powerless
Love is in the air in a new promo for the second episode of the series, “Wayne Dream Team”.
Arrow
Ollie plans a trip to Russia in a new gallery of images from the next episode, “Bratva”. There are more pictures at the link. [Comicbook.com]
