The New Porsche 911 GT3 Is In A Class Of Its Own

Top Gear‘s Chris Harris stepped out of a loaner Porsche 911 R to kindly review the new 911 GT3 for us, so when he claims that the GT3 is one of the best cars on sale today, we’re just going to have to believe him.

The GT3 is supposed to be the track-day Porsche that isn’t all fussy to look at, but still dead serious about catapulting your body around very quickly. The new GT3 comes with stickier tires to handle some added torque, some tweaks to the aerodynamic features, an upgraded 4.0L flat-six with revs “limited” to 9000 rpm, and systems updated to “superhero” status. Apparently it’s even better than the 911 R.

Chris likes Porsches. Chris really likes this one. Then there’s a skid at 148km/h, a lot of tires die, and he concludes that the new GT3 really doesn’t have any competition for what it offers. Imagine how good the GT3 with the manual will be when it goes on sale later this year.
