Video: If you don’t have access to a proper recycling facility, a talented blacksmith who goes by shurap on YouTube has found another way to recycle old batteries, turning them into a gorgeous Damascus-steel knife that also uses a recycled Maglite torch for its handle.
A word of caution, however. When foraging for metal inside old batteries [Editor’s note: Don’t.] it might not be a bad idea to throw on a pair of rubber gloves, because inside that old Duracell you’re also going to encounter highly-caustic materials that you probably don’t want to get on your bare skin.
