Unfortunately, back when Star Trek: The Next Generation was airing and ushering in a new generation of Trekkies, Lego hadn’t yet realised the full potential of licensing movies and TV shows for its building sets. As a result, Star Trek: TNG has never officially been available in plastic brick form, but these custom minifigures are the next best thing.
The eight-figure set isn’t officially produced by Lego, but each of the minifigures – including Wesley Crusher, Lt. Commander Data, Dr. Beverly Crusher, Cmdr. William Riker, Capt. Jean-Luc Picard, Counselor Deanna Troi, Lt. Cmdr. Geordi La Forge, and Lieutenant Worf – are 100 per cent compatible with your existing plastic brick collections.
Because these minifigures aren’t being produced as en masse as Lego’s are, this set doesn’t come cheap. The version featuring more natural skin tones will set you back just north of $US100 ($129), but you can save a few bucks by opting for the Enterprise’s crew sporting Lego’s more traditional yellow skin tones, which is around $US94 ($121) instead. You can also just buy your favourite TNG minifigures for $US15 ($19)-$US16 ($21) individually, but the full collection is a better deal.
