Oh dear. News.com.au reports that Apple Australia is investigating reports that an authorised Apple reseller lifted photos from the computer of an Australian Olympic athlete that reportedly depict him having sex with his wife.
According to News.com.au, the athlete took his computer into a reseller to be fixed, before the reseller allegedly copied the intimate pictures and uploaded them to a shared drive that apparently contains other such images of celebrities and members of the general public.
Is it right to assume that we have privacy over our pictures when we hand our machines over to be repaired? To me, it adds fuel to the case for having your own secure, external hard drive where you keep your most intimate content. Or just don’t take photos of yourself having sex? [News.com.au]
