The show may have come to an end, but the Breaking Bad train continues to steam ahead for AMC. There are many ways the franchise could manifest itself beyond TV series and it looks like Sony might be exploring one of the more exciting options: a video game.
Christopher Groux over at Design & Trend picked up on a trademark application filed with Europe’s The Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM). The filing is rather brief — aside from listing “Sony Pictures Television Inc.” as the owner, there’s not much too it.
Oh, except for this bit:
9 Computer gaming software; gaming software that generates or displays wager outcomes of gaming machines, downloadable software in the nature of a mobile application for playing games; games playable via a global computer network, handheld electronic devices, portable video players, portable music players, smart phones, laptop computers, handheld computers, table computers, cellular phones, pagers, personal digital assistants, digital television set-top boxes, interactive digital television controllers and programmable digital television recorders; operational computer game software sold or leased together with reconfigurable casino and lottery gaming equipment.
It goes on to mention “casino and lottery gaming equipment” and “gaming services, namely on-line gambling”, so it’s entirely possible Sony just wants to fill Vegas with Breaking Bad-themed poker machines.
That first paragraph however leaves the doors open to some sort of actual computer game.
What sort of game? Something LEGO-inspired perhaps? Or even GTA-flavoured? Take a guess!
